Stetson fans, especially Stetson baseball fans, have fond memories of the time Corey Kluber spent as a part of the Hatters baseball program.

Kluber played for the Hatters from 2005-07, posting a 20-9 record with a 3.30 ERA. He posted 214 career strikeouts in 231.2 innings of work.

Following the 2007 season he was drafted in the fourth round by the San Diego Padres. As he worked his way up through the minor leagues he was traded to the Cleveland Indians in 2010 and in late 2011 he made his Major League debut with the Tribe.

After starting the 2013 season at AAA, he got an early call-up and has been a fixture in the Indians' starting rotation ever since.

This year, Corey has had an All-Star worthy start to the season, and you can help send him to Minneapois for next weeks' mid-summer classic by voting online.

Kluber has posted an 8-6 record so far this year in 19 starts, but that only tells part of the story. His 2.86 ERA ranks eighth in the American League and his 137 strikeouts ranks fourth, behind only David Price of the Rays, Felix Hernandez of the Mariners and defending Cy Young winner Max Scherzer of the Tigers.

All three of those pitchers were selected to the All-Star game by Red Sox manager John Farrell, but Kluber has to win a fan vote to earn the final spot on the roster.

He'll face stiff competition in the voting from four other starting pitchers. That group includes Dallas Keuchel of the Astros, Rick Porcello of the Tigers, Garrett Richards of the Angels and Chris Sale of the White Sox.

Fans can vote multiple times every day for their favorite from both the American League and National League through 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 10.

So vote early, vote often and vote Kluber. Go to to start voting now.
