DeLAND—First-year Stetson men’s soccer head coach Ernie Yarborough recently completed his coaching staff for the 2014 season. Joining the Hatters are Jared Vock, Jonathan Adams, and Giulio D’Amore.

Vock will serve as an assistant coach and comes to Stetson after spending the previous eight years on staff at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

“Jared is an eager young coach,” said Yarborough. “He’s done a great job developing talent here in Florida, both with local and national level players. He’s been looking for a college coaching opportunity and this is the perfect place for Jared to get his start.”

Vock spent time as the head coach for IMG’s U14 boys’ team, as well as an assistant for the U.S. Soccer Development Academy’s U13 and U14 teams.

Vock played collegiately at both USF (2001-2003) and LeMoyne (2004). At USF he was a Conference USA All-Freshman team selection, as well as being named all-conference as a freshman and sophomore. At LeMoyne, Vock helped lead the Dolphins to a 17-2-1 record. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Grand Canyon University in 2010.

Vock has earned an “A” license from the United States Soccer Federation. He and his wife, Gabriella, have a four-year old son, J.R.

Adams comes to Stetson after spending the previous two years as the Director of Coaching at Massapequa Soccer Club in New York. Adams also currently serves as the head coach of the Orlando City Youth Soccer Club.

“Jonathan is a great fit for us,” said Yarborough. “He has a goalkeeper background and I know he’ll do a great job working with our keepers.”

Adams has experience coaching in the collegiate ranks, serving one season as a men’s assistant coach at Hofstra (2011-12) and spending two seasons as both the men’s and women’s assistant coach at Mars Hill (2007-09), his alma mater. He graduated from Mars Hill in 2006 with a degree in Sports Management.

A former Stetson team captain, D’Amore joins Yarborough’s coaching staff as the volunteer assistant. A three-year letter winner with the Hatters, D’Amore was a key member of Stetson’s 2009 Atlantic Sun Conference championship squad. He appeared in 54 career matches with 34 starts and scored four goals with six assists. He graduated from Stetson in December of 2010 with a degree in Business Administration.

“Whenever you come into a new situation you want to have a connection to the past and Giulio is that for us,” said Yarborough. “He’s a perfect fit for what we need to connect the past with the brilliant future we have ahead of us.”

The Hatters open the 2014 season when they face Elon in the opening match of the Nike Invitational, 5 p.m., Friday in Durham, N.C.
