DURHAM, N.C.—Duke’s Cameron Mosely and Seo-in Kim each scored two goals as Duke rallied for an 8-2 win over Stetson in the Nike Invitational on Sunday.
The Blue Devils (1-0-1) scored seven goals in the second half after Stetson (1-1-0) led 2-1 at halftime.
Duke grabbed an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Mosely in the 10th minute, but Stetson stayed close until breaking through in the 29th minute when Jared Huber knotted the game with his first goal of the year. Marco Hjorth assisted on Huber’s goal.
The Hatters gained a 2-1 lead just before halftime when David Caulfield scored an unassisted goal from 30 yards out, getting the ball just over the head of Duke keeper Joe O’Haus.
The 2-1 lead lasted until early in the second half. Mosely scored his second goal of the game in the 50th minute on a give-and-go from Brian White.
Duke’s Seo-in Kim scored what would prove to be the game-winning goal in the 59th minute. Kim added his second goal in the 68th minute.
Brody Huitema (73’), Matt Slotnick (83’), Macario Hing-Glover (89’) and Bryson Asher (90’) scored Duke’s final four goals.
Duke fired off 21 shots against Stetson keeper Paul Ladwig, who managed to make five saves. Stetson recorded six shots.
Huber, JJ Bostic and JJ Lofthouse-Smith were named to the all-tournament team.
The Hatters return to action when they visit FIU, 7:30 p.m., Friday in Miami.
