Hatters Visit Miami Friday, Host Wingate Sunday

Stetson women’s soccer visits ACC power Miami, 7 p.m., Friday, before returning to DeLand to host Wingate, 1 p.m., Sunday at the Athletic Training Center.

The Hatters (0-3-1) are in search of their first victory after dropping home games to St. Leo (2-0) and Navy (3-1) last weekend.

Miami (1-3-0) has already played a pair of Atlantic Sun Conference foes, falling 2-1 to FGCU and defeating Jacksonville 1-0 in their previous game.

Wingate is an NCAA Division II school from Wingate, N.C. Members of the South Atlantic Conference, the Bulldogs open their season on Thursday at USC Aiken.

Fans have several ways to follow this weekend’s action. Friday’s game will be live streamed through Canes All-Access, while Sunday’s game will be streamed live on HatterVision. Live Stats will be available for both games, and fans can follow the Hatters on the team’s Twitter feed @StetsonWSoccer.

Weekend Notes
•    Stetson is 1-8-0 all-time against the Hurricanes in a series which dates back to 1998. The Hatters’ lone win in the series was a 2-1 victory in Coral Gables during the 2005 season
•    Sunday’s match will be the first meeting between Stetson and Wingate
•    While Stetson has scored just three goals in its first four matches, two of them came away from home when the Hatters tied Florida Atlantic, 2-2
•    Brianne Boldrin, Eduarda Pavao and Allison Zaccheo have scored Stetson’s three goals in 2014
