After a school-record 10 match win streak, the Stetson women's tennis team has now lost three in a row after falling to North Florida on Saturday at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.

"The level of tennis was what you would expect when playing a top conference opponent like UNF," Stetson Director of Tennis Pierre Pilote. "The high level of intensity was there as well."

Senior Lindsey Cable and sophomore Eveline Lepinay got the Hatters out to a great start, winning 8-3 at number three doubles, but the Ospreys won at number one and two to take the doubles point.

"Our #3 doubles were on fire today," Pilote said. "We all wish that we could have followed their lead and got another doubles victory, but UNF was just better today at one and two."

North Florida extended its lead to 3-0 after winning at number one and two singles. It was Lepinay who first got Stetson on the board, winning 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 at number five singles to make it 3-1.

The Ospreys clinched the match with a win at number four singles, and then added to their lead with a win at number two. Stetson freshman Carolina Meregalli earned Stetson's second points of the match with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 win at number six.

Stetson will look to rebound with a neutral non-conference against Miami (Ohio). The Hatters and the Redhawks play in Sarasota on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
