ORLANDO, Fla. -
The Stetson men's and women's cross country teams competed in the UCF Black and
Gold Invitational Friday night in Orlando. The men finished in sixth while the
women finished in 13th.
On the men's side, Andrew Epifanio was the first Hatter to
cross the finish line, completing the race with a time of 28:41.60 (34th).
The next two Hatters to finish were Cody Malloy (29:27.63) and Andrew Townes (29:30.67),
who came in 42nd and 43rd respectively.
Kyle Burton finished the race in 46th with a time
of 29:53.97. Brian Dughi (30:10.14), Jeremy Butler (30:31.89), and Ryan Hodgins
(30:36.02) finished the race 50th through 52nd.
Angelo Parkinson finished in 63rd with a time of
32:27.81 and Austyn Finnk came in 70th with a time of 34:46.08.
James Welch III (35.11.01), Deryck Greene (35:29.54), and Matthew Ady
(37:01.20) were the final three Hatters to finish, coming in 73rd,
74th, and 78th.
On the women's side, Alyssa Thompson led the Hatters with a
time of 25:18.24, finising in 67th. Sabrina Guzsvany was next to
cross the finish line, coming in 70th with a time of 25:26.10. Trixi
Menge finished in 76th with a time of 25:39.50.
Jessica Cosgrove (25:47.78) and Emmie Wenzell (25:50.28)
finished back-to-back, coming in 80th and 81st. The final
two Hatters to finish were Christine Iseley (28:17.93) and Connie Compton
(31:42.90), finishing in 112th and 136th.
The Hatters will wait two weeks before heading to Fort
Myers, Fla. to compete in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships on October
27.
