Stetson University freshman golfer Dustin Dingus was recognized by the Atlantic Sun Conference on Wednesday as the league's Male Golfer of the Week.
The Palm Harbor, Fla., native recorded his second consecutive top 10 finish, finishing ninth in the Wendy's Kiawah Classic at Kiawah Island, SC.
Dingus held the tournament lead after posting a collegiate low 69 in the second round. He finished ahead of 126 players in the 26-team tournament , including two who were ranked among the top 40 players in the country.
Dingus completed the event with a five-over par score of 218 to run his streak to four consecutive tournaments in which he has finished within six shots of par.
So far this fall, Dingus has a 72.92 stroke average through 12 rounds of competition.
Dingus and the Hatters will close out the fall season on Monday and Tuesday when they host the Stetson - CFSC Collegiate Invitational at Victoria Hills Golf Club. Play will begin on Monday morning, Nov. 5, with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.
