DeLand, Fla. - Stetson senior Sam Ryder (Longwood, Fla.) was named Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday following his victory at the Mission Inn Classic in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. this past weekend. Ryder's fourth career win netted him his first career A-Sun weekly award.

Ryder shot 73-69-69 for a five under par 211 54-hole score, racing away to a seven-stroke victory over FGCU's Brandon Pena. The win was his second in a row at Mission Inn Resort, having captured the Mission Inn Spring Fling in March 2011. Ryder also owns victories at the 2009 B-CU Fall Invitational and 2010 Jacksonville State/Young Oil Grub Mart Intercollegiate.

A two-time Second Team All-Atlantic Sun Team selection, Ryder has played to a blistering 69.7 stroke average in six rounds this fall, having also placed fourth at -3 in the Donald Ross Intercollegiate earlier this month. Stetson next competes at the Kiawah Island (S.C.) Intercollegiate this Sunday, October 30-Tuesday, November 1. The Hatters complete the fall season November 7-8 with the annual Stetson/CFSC Invitational at Victoria Hills Golf Club.
