DELAND, Fla. – The Stetson men’s tennis team has announced the signing of Chilean Kevin Gonzalez, who will begin play for the Hatters during the fall. Gonzalez comes to DeLand from Colegio Altomonte in Valparaiso, Chile where he attended high school and excelled on the school’s tennis team.

“Kevin is a great addition to our team as he brings a wealth of international experience in both singles and doubles play,” Associate Head Coach Christophe Noblet said. “We are excited to have him join the Hatter family.”

Gonzalez steadily improved his game as a youth, garnering No. 1 national rankings as the best player under the age of 12, 14 and 16. He then went onto compile a 37-16 singles record during his two final years of high school competition and earned an equally as impressive 31-17 doubles mark.
