Stetson men's and women's tennis kept their perfect records intact on Saturday.

DeLand, Fla./Troy, Ala. - The Stetson men's and women's tennis teams continued their unbeaten streaks to start the 2011 season on Saturday with two victories for Head Coach Pierre Pilote's men (7-0) and one for Head Coach Sasha Schmid's women (4-0).  The men's tennis team beat Georgia Southern 5-2 and Saint Leo 7-0 at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center while the women's squad finished off its two-match trip to Troy, Alabama with a 6-1 win over Charleston Southern.

Senior Alex Hackett (Surrey, England), juniors Cesare Gallo (Portogruaro, Italy) and Njal Stene (Oslo, Norway) and sophomore Didrik Berg (Oslo, Norway) all went undefeated in both singles and doubles in Saturday's men's tennis matches.  Hackett registered a 6-0, 6-0 #5 singles victory over Saint Leo's Tom Gleeson.

For the women, four Hatters were double winners yet again for a Stetson team that is 21-3 in its dual competition singles matches in 2011.  Those four were senior Unnati Purushotham (Hyderabad, India), sophomore Carolina de los Santos (Montevideo, Uruguay) and freshmen MayaBlue Stauffer-MacDowell (Asheville, N.C.) and Sierra Sullivan (Austin, Texas).  Junior Shannon Gunning (Boca Raton, Fla.) also registered a straight-set singles victory for Stetson.

Stetson men's tennis is back in action Thursday, Feb. 17 when it hosts Troy at 2:30 p.m.  The women host Bethune-Cookman at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18.  Live Stats for all home matches at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center are available at
