DeLand, Fla. - The Stetson men's tennis team (12-7, 4-2 Atlantic Sun) pulled out a 4-3 conference win at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center on Thursday against visiting rival Lipscomb (5-6, 2-2 A-Sun) in the nightcap of a rare doubleheader.  Earlier this morning the Hatters fell 4-0 to 29th-ranked SEC power Ole Miss (8-4).

The Hatters claimed the doubles point against the Bisons thanks to a gritty 9-8 win by sophomore Didrik Berg (Oslo, Norway) and junior Cesare Gallo (Portogruaro, Italy) on Court 2 over Miguel Cortez and Colby Shaw.  Senior Alex Hackett (Surrey, England) and freshman Hans Adrian Riseng (Oslo, Norway) won on Court 3 for the Hatters.

Although he was not victorious, junior Maksim Levanovich (Minsk, Belarus) made his return to the top of Stetson's singles lineup against Lipscomb after missing several matches with an injury.  The Hatters got the three singles wins they needed to claim the match from Berg (6-1, 6-1 over Tanner Brown on Court 4), Hackett (6-3, 6-2 over Cortez on Court 5) and Gallo (6-4, 6-3 over Chad Pierron on Court 2).

#29 Ole Miss claimed a time-shortened 4-0 match over the Hatters in the morning; the talented Rebels lineup featured the ITA's eighth-ranked doubles duo of Chris and Marcel Thiemann as well as its #55 (M. Thiemann) and #102 (Tucker Vorster) singles players.  The match allowed Head Coach Pierre Pilote's squad to gain valuable experience against elite competition that should pay off down the road.

Stetson continues A-Sun home action Saturday at 10 a.m. when Belmont visits the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.  Live scoring will be available on
