DeLand, Fla. - Stetson senior Maksim Levanovich (Minsk, Belarus) made his career debut in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national men's singles rankings on Tuesday, coming in at #113.

Levanovich is 12-1 this spring at #1 singles, also compiling an 11-4 doubles record with his partner, freshman Chester Espie (Auckland, New Zealand). Levanovich's 2012 resume includes straight set wins over players from nationally ranked Arkansas and Memphis squads as well as a 6-4, 6-2 victory over then 83rd-ranked Ivan Turudic of Penn in a 4-3 Stetson win March 5.

Previous Stetson men's tennis players to crack the national rankings include Cesare Gallo '11, who was #108 throughout the fall of 2010 and Marcus Echtler '08, who was ranked for five straight weeks to end the Spring 2006 campaign as well as for Fall 2006 and the first week of the season in January 2007. Echtler's high ranking was the last one at #61.

"Max is having a terrific senior season and this is a well-deserved honor for him," said Stetson Director of Tennis Pierre Pilote. "He continues our tradition of outstanding #1 players we have had here at Stetson."

Stetson, ranked 74th in the ITA national team rankings hosts Jacksonville at noon Thursday in Atlantic Sun Conference action. The Hatters are 12-3 overall and 3-1 in A-Sun play; live scoring for Thursday's match will be available at
