HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The
Hatters finished day two of play at the Southern Miss Invitational in
Hattiesburg. Five Hatters picked up victories on day two of competition.
"The team did very well vs.
another nationally ranked team, #75 UAB, claiming four of six singles matches,” director of
Tennis Pierre Pilote said. "The team continued its spirited
play this morning."
Didrik Berg was victorious, defeating Tom Puetz (UAB) 7-5, 7-5. Egor
Panyushkin won his match, defeating Lucas Duribe (UAB) 6-4, 6-2. Chester Espie
picked up his third win of the weekend by defeating Luiz Felipe Pinto (UAB) 6-4, 6-1. Hans Adrian Riseng won his match against David Cooper (UAB) 6-2, 6-4.
Cahit Kapukiran was defeated by David Zimmerman (UAB) 6-3,
6-0 and Laurynas Antropikas fell to Rafael Rondino (UAB) 6-4, 3-6, 10-6.
Simon Julin also defeated Evan Karatzas (Nicholls) 6-0, 6-4 in his match.
The rest of play this weekend has been cancelled due to rain.
