Men's Tennis Concludes Play at Bedford Cup

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Three conoslation bracket wins highlighted the Stetson men's tennis team's Saturday at the Bedford Cup.

Senior Hans Adrian Riseng, junior Chester Espie, and sophomore Egor Panyushkin all won in straight sets in consolation play for the Hatters.

Riseng defeated Jack Haffey of Florida State 6-3, 6-3. Espie won 6-3, 6-2 against Jalen Evans of Florida A&M. Panyushkin, meanwhile, topped Bernardo Craveiro of North Florida 6-1, 7-5.

Sophomore Cahit Kapukiran and Laurynas Antropikas, who were two of eight remaining players in the singles bracket on Saturday, lost to Norbert Nemcsek of UNF and Michael Rinaldi of Florida State, respectively.

Riseng and junior Nathan Debut lost in the doubles semifinals on Saturday, dropping an 8-3 match to Nemcsek/Findel-Hawkins of UNF.

The Stetson men's tennis team will next compete at the Wake Forest Invitational from October 11-13.
