DeLand, Fla. - With 36 holes of the annual Holiday Inn Express Hatter Fall Classic in the books, both sophomore Alexandria Buelow (Palm City, Fla.) and the Stetson women's golf team stand in third place at Victoria Hills Golf Club.  The Hatters will have to make up a six-stroke deficit on co-leaders Daytona State and Jacksonville State if they are to capture their fourth consecutive home tournament championship.

Buelow bounced back from a four over par 76 in the first round with a two under par 70 in the afternoon to rise up the leaderboard to third place individually at +2.  She trails Daytona State's Mitsuki Katahira by six strokes and Jacksonville State's Lucia Fernandez by three with 18 holes remaining.  Junior Lauren Cate (St. Augustine, Fla.) held the lead after her one under par 71 in the first round; she shot 76 in the afternoon and is tied for fourth at three over par.  Freshmen Sammi Smith (Louisville, Ky.) and Mallory Viera (Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.) are both in the top 20 after rounds of 76-77 and 77-77, respectively, while freshman Ryan Ashburn (Largo, Fla.) improved from an 83 to a 76 in her second loop around the golf course.

Senior Alex Banham (Peterborough, England), freshman Jenna Hoecker (Rochester, N.Y.) and senior Lauren Eliopoulos (Akron, Ohio) are also competing this week for the Hatters as individuals; on Monday, Banham shot 80-81, Hoecker carded 84-78 and Eliopoulos tallied 87-82.

Jacksonville State and Daytona State are tied for the lead at 17 over par, six strokes up on Stetson; those three teams will play together in tomorrow's final round.  Also competing this week are Florida Atlantic (+37), McNeese State (+49), FGCU (+54), Bethune-Cookman (+87), USC Upstate (+95) and Lipscomb (+104).  The tournament concludes with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start tomorrow morning.
