Crystal River, Fla. - Sophomore Alexandria Buelow (Palm City, Fla.) turned in the low round of the day at the University of Cincinnati Spring Invitational with a three under par 69, moving into a tie for the lead in the 119-golfer field after 36 holes.  Her performance led the Stetson women's golf team to the second-lowest second round team score (296, +8) and a rise to fourth place among the 23 competing squads.  The Hatters are 23 over par overall with one round to go.

Junior Lauren Cate (St. Augustine, Fla.) and freshman Mallory Viera (Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.) followed Buelow's 69 with twin rounds of 75 to place in ties for 19th (+7) and 26th (+8), respectively, after two rounds.  Senior Alex Banham (Peterborough, England) improved her Friday score by nine shots with a 77 and freshman Sammi Smith (Louisville, Ky.) rounded out the team contingent with an 81.  Freshman Ryan Ashburn (Largo, Fla.), competing as an individual, leads all individual-only golfers at nine over par overall after her 76 on Saturday.

Buelow and Marianne Andersson (Florida Southern), who shot two under par 70, are tied for the lead at -2 overall, one stroke ahead of Morehead State's Paige Lausier.  Tied for fourth at even par are Briana Carlson (FGCU) and Elia Folch (Seminole State College of Florida).

First round leader Morehead State came back to the pack somewhat on Saturday but still leads the tournament at 15 over par, two strokes ahead of North Texas and six up on third place Florida Southern.  The Hatters sit in fourth place, eight strokes behind MSU and just two back on FSC at 23 over par with A-Sun rival Campbell rounding out the top five at +26.  Also competing this weekend are Marshall (+33), Elon (+34), Mercer (+35), Houston Baptist (+36), Florida Atlantic (+41), host Cincinnati (+43), UAB (+44), Ohio (+46), Rutgers (+50), FGCU (+52), North Dakota State (+55), Seton Hall (+59), Oakland (+61), Seminole SCF (+62), Embry-Riddle (+63), McNeese State (+69), Eckerd (+93) and St. Andrews Presbyterian (no team score).

The tournament concludes Sunday with the final round of 18 holes at Plantation Golf Resort.
