Stetson, winner of the last two A-Sun Women's Golf Championships, will lead a field of 10 at the 2011 At-Sun Championship when play begins Monday from Victoria Hills Golf Club in DeLand, Fla.

A year ago, at Venetian Bay Golf Club, the Hatters shot the lowest team score in championship history to rally from a 12-stroke deficit to successfully retain the title. Stetson returns each of the previous two individual runner-ups. Lauren Cate took second in 2009 and Alexandria Buelow finished second last year. Buelow enters the Championship as the conference's top-ranked golfer, according to both GolfStat.com and GolfWeek.com. Buelow owns two tournament wins this year, winning at the season-opening UNC Greensboro Starmount Classic and adding a title at the Siena College Homewood Suites Invitational in March.

Stetson makes up one of the four Atlantic Sun women's golf programs ranked in GolfWeek.com's top 100. Kennesaw State owns the top ranking, No. 74; Campbell ranks No. 82 and ETSU checks in at No. 84. Campbell has won the A-Sun Championship eight times - most recently in 2007. ETSU owns one A-Sun Women's Golf title, winning in 2008.

The Owls will make their third appearance at the A-Sun Women's Golf Championship. They built off a fourth-place finish in 2009 by taking second last year. Ket Premchuen finished fourth in 2010 and has followed up with three top-five finishes this year.

Premchuen, Buelow and FGCU's Briana Carlson (third in 2010) all return for the 2011 Championships after finishing inside the top five last year. Carlson has finished no worse than fourth in any spring event. She claimed her second individual title of her career, winning the University of Cincinnati Spring Invitational.

Mercer owns two team titles and two Bears have won medalist honors this season. Mercer claimed victories at the Eat A Peach Collegiate and Lacey Fears claimed the individual honor in a playoff. The Bears also emerged victorious at the Coastal Georgia Women's Invitational, winning the eight-team event by a stroke. Aurelie Wiriath shared the individual victory.

Victoria Hills Golf Club features hundreds of oak hammocks and Augusta pines, carved meticulously from a sandy terrain and buffered by pristine lakes and flowering greens. In GOLF.com's first-ever ranking of the best golf courses you can play in Florida, Victoria Hills ranked No. 10. Victoria Hills Golf Club has previously hosted the A-Sun Championship in 2005, won by Georgia State, and 2009, won by Stetson.

Play begins at 8 a.m. Monday with USC Upstate and Lipscomb opening play off the first tee. Fans can follow the action at Golfstat.com.
