Seniors Luis Ocejo and Kai Eckenrode were named to the Capital One Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday afternoon. The accolades recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. This marks the second straight year that Ocejo has earned Academic All-District honors, adding to the defender's extensive academic achievements at Stetson University. Last season he was also named Third Team NSCAA Scholar All-American, and has earned A-Sun All-Academic honors each of his three years as a Hatter. This season he was one of only 30 student-athletes named as a candidate for the Senior CLASS Award. Eckenrode, meanwhile, earns Academic All-District honors for the first time after leading Stetson with five goals during his senior campaign. The forward is a two-time A-Sun All-Academic honoree, and was named a Conference Scholar as a junior in 2011. A communication studies major at Stetson, Eckenrode was one of just two forwards to earn Academic All-District 4 honors this year. |
