DeLand, Fla. - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America released its 2010 Division I Men's Soccer All-South Region teams today and Stetson had three players honored for their outstanding play. Junior midfielder Fredrik Brustad (Oslo, Norway) earned Second Team honors, while senior defender Ryan Corning (Ponte Vedra, Fla.) and sophomore midfielder Jonathan Mendoza (Bogata, Colombia) were voted to the Third Team.

Brustad completed the season tied for second in the Atlantic Sun Conference in scoring with 20 points and in points per game with 1.11. He was tied for 4th in goals scored with seven and tied for 6th in assists with six. He was selected First Team All-Conference, as well as the Player of the Year by the A-Sun coaches.

Corning was the team's back line anchor and led the Hatters to a 0.73 goals against average (2nd in A-Sun) and six shutouts. Stetson allowed only 14 goals on the season and gave up more than one goal just twice (2 vs. Furman and 2 vs. UCF). Corning was voted First Team All-Conference and also as a member of the A-Sun All-Tournament Team.

Mendoza was voted First Team All-Conference this season. He led the A-Sun in assists with 11 and tied for 8th in scoring with 17 points. Mendoza was named the A-Sun Player of the Week on October 4 after scoring a pair of goals and adding two assists in Stetson's win over Lipscomb. Mendoza was voted to the All-A-Sun Tournament Team after Stetson's runner up finish in 2010.

"These honors are very well deserved by our players", said Stetson head coach T. Logan Fleck. "It shows the direction we trying to head with the Stetson men's soccer program. And, it means that our opponents recognize that we are playing at a high level."
