Nashville, Tenn. - Stetson's Jonathan Mendoza (Bogata, Columbia) scored two goals and added two assists while goalkeeper Andreas Schnabl (Blaichach, Germany) registered his third consecutive shutout en route to the Hatters' 4-0 win over Lipscomb (4-6-0, 0-2-0). With its victory over Belmont Friday Stetson swept through Nashville over the weekend and returns home 5-2-1 overall and 2-0-0 in Atlantic Sun Conference play.

"Overall it was another very good team performance", said Stetson head coach T. Logan Fleck. "I was impressed with our defense keeping a blank sheet and our offense for scoring some unselfish goals."

The Hatters put the pressure on early with a tally in the 13th minute. Mendoza picked up a rebound in the box following a free kick. It was the second game-winning goal of the season for the sophomore who led the team and the conference in that category last season with three.

After coming out of the halftime break up 1-0 Stetson scored three more goals between 66:32 and 88:37. The first two of the second half were scored on headers and set up by crossing passes by Mendoza. Ryan Asare-Bediako (Tampa, Fla.) hit in the 67th minute and Caleb Matthews in the 84th minute. It was the first career goal for the sophomore from Ponte Vedra, Florida.

Defender and fellow Ponte Vedra resident Ryan Corning anchored the defensive effort in front of Schnabl.

"It was good to get the shutout, our third in a row", said Corning. "As a team we have been building more and more each game. Hopefully we can keep it going through the A-Sun season."

Schnabl faced 14 shots by the Bisons yet just two were on goal and resulted in saves.

"Andreas is playing incredible", added Corning. "He made a great save today and has been a great leader for us so far this year."

Mendoza finished off the scoring in the 89th minute after picking up a cross by Fredrik Brustad (Oslo, Norway) and chipping it into the back of the net.

Next up for the Hatters is a home stand against ETSU Friday at 7:00 p.m. and USC Upstate Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Both games can be seen on Hattervision found at
