DeLand, Fla. - On Friday it was announced that Stetson's Fredrik Brustad was voted as the A-Sun's Player of the Year. The junior midfielder out of Oslo, Norway was also picked as this year's Preseason Player of the Year back in August.
Heading into this weekend's Conference Championship Final Four Brustad is second in the league in scoring with 20 points.
"The award is well deserved", said Stetson head coach T. Logan Fleck. "Freddy has shown his value to us and it is nice to see that the other coaches in the conference have noticed his abilities as well."
Stetson, the #2 seed will take on #6 Jacksonville in Thursday's first semifinal game at 4:00 p.m. in Johnson City, Tennessee. At 7:00 p.m. host and #1 seed ETSU will face #4 Lipscomb in the second semifinal. The winners will play for the title at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
