The Stetson University baseball program will host its annual Blood Drive, in conjunction with Florida’s Blood Centers, on Monday, November 19.
The event will be held at Melching Field at Conrad Park in DeLand and will run from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
“This is an event that’s important to our players and coaches and is vital in the effort to stockpile blood supplies heading into the holiday season,” Hatters baseball coach Pete Dunn said. “It seems as if the call goes out every year at this time for donations because blood supplies run low. This is a way for our program to give back to the community.
“This community supports the Stetson baseball program throughout the year, and this is a way for us to show our appreciation.”
While all of the member of the Stetson baseball team will participate in the Blood Drive, the Hatters are asking that members of the Stetson University faculty, staff and students, as well as the DeLand community, come out in support of this effort by donating a pint of blood.
People interested in donating can schedule an appointment by calling 1-888-9-DONATE (936-6283) or online.
