The Stetson baseball team's recruiting class for the 2013 season was ranked 29th in the nation by Collegiate Baseball, as announced by the publication on Tuesday. It marked the first time Stetson was ranked in the top 40 since reaching the 20th spot in 2003.
The group of 16 new Hatters are one of just two Atlantic Sun Conference incoming classes ranked in the Top 40 (Kennesaw State, #38). The SEC, PAC-12, and ACC led the way at the top of the list, with Vanderbilt tabbed as the top recruiting class in the country.
The new Stetson players have joined the returning Hatters this fall, hoping to help lead the new look team to another Atlantic Sun Conference Championship and trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2013.
The squad will practice this fall, play Baseball Canada's Junior National Team on October 20th, and then compete in the annual Hatter Series in early November before gearing up for the spring season.
