TAMPA, Fla. - The
Stetson women's tennis team finished day two at the ITA Southeast Regional in
Tampa on Saturday with a doubles win and two singles wins.
In doubles, Juniors MayaBlue Stauffer-MacDowell (Asheville,
N.C.) and Lindsey Cable (Gainesville, Fla.) won their first match of the day,
defeating Giulietta Boha and Rita Maisak of FIU 8-5. The duo lost their next
match, falling to Danielle Collins and Olivia Janowicz of Florida 8-3 in the
quarterfinals. Collins and Janowicz are the number four seeded doubles team in
the tournament.
In the singles back draw, Andrea Crespo (Valencia, Spain) won
two matches on the day. She began the day by defeating Natalia Tomaszewicz of
FAU 7-5, 6-4. In her second match of the day, she defeated Masa Grgan of
Georgia State, 7-6, 1-6, 10-7 to advance to the quarterfinals of the draw,
where she will face Megan Kurey of Georgia Tech Sunday morning at 9 a.m.
Junior Diana Bukajeva (Riga, Latvia) lost her match in the
back draw, falling to Genevieve Lorbergs of UCF 3-6, 6-3, 10-4.
