DeLand, Fla. - The Stetson women's tennis team (7-1, 2-1 Atlantic Sun) narrowly suffered its first defeat of the 2011 season, falling 4-3 at home to visiting A-Sun rival Campbell (5-4, 2-0 A-Sun) Saturday at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.  Freshman Lindsey Cable (Gainesville, Fla.) won in singles and doubles for the Hatters.

Stetson won the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead into the singles proceedings, but was undone by four losses at the top of the lineup.  Only Cable (3-6, 6-1, 7-5 on Court 6 against Natasha Afridi) and freshman Sierra Sullivan (Austin, Texas) (6-1, 6-0 over Domenik Wallaart on Court 5) were able to post singles victories for the Hatters.  Junior Shannon Gunning (Boca Raton, Fla.) suffered a tough three-set loss on Court 3 to Borislava Nikolova that swung the match in favor of the Camels.

The Hatters host Eastern Kentucky at 11 a.m. Monday; follow Live Stats at GoHatters.com.  The Stetson-EKU men's match will follow at 5 p.m.
