DeLand, Fla. - The Stetson women's tennis team (14-1, 5-1 Atlantic Sun) extended their winning streak to seven matches with a 7-0 shutout of visiting Lipscomb (2-9, 1-5 A-Sun) Thursday afternoon at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.  Every match ended in straight sets as no Lady Bison took more than six total games in any match against a Hatter.

Freshman Susana Aguirre (Guayaquil, Ecuador) subbed into the singles lineup at #6 and emphatically took care of business, shutting out Julianne McMeen 6-0, 6-0.  Sophomore Carolina de los Santos (Montevideo, Uruguay), named A-Sun Player of the Week yesterday, did likewise at the top of the lineup against Elizabeth Keevil.  Junior Shannon Gunning (Boca Raton, Fla.) also recorded a perfect set in a 6-3, 6-0 win on Court 3 over Alyssa Bellini.  Winning in singles for Stetson as well were senior Unnati Purushotham (Hyderabad, India) and freshmen MayaBlue Stauffer-MacDowell (Asheville, N.C.) and Sierra Sullivan (Austin, Texas).

Stetson closed out the doubles point in short order with wins in 24 of 31 total games.  The Hatters used their regular starters of de los Santos/Purushotham at #1, Stauffer-MacDowell/Sullivan at #2 and Lindsey Cable (Gainesville, Fla.)/Gunning at #3.

The Hatters host A-Sun rival Belmont at 10 a.m. Saturday to close out a three-match homestand.  Live Scoring will be available at GoHatters.com with the Stetson-Belmont men's match to follow at 2 p.m.
