DELAND, Fla. – The Stetson University women’s tennis team will put its five match win streak on the line, Thursday at it travels to Orlando to take on UCF in the team’s final match of the regular season. The Hatters (15-5, 5-3) will be looking to avenge their 4-3 loss to the Knights in DeLand last season and take their first match with their intrastate rivals since the 1993 season.
Stetson is coming off a weekend in which it claimed road matches with Lipscomb (4-0) and Northern Kentucky (6-1), and has now had winnings streaks of 10 and five this season. Its latest streak has come against four conference opponents and the 10 match win streak earlier in the year, set a new school record. The Hatters’ 15 wins in 2014 are their most since the 2011 season, when they won 17.
UCF enters Thursday’s match with a 5-11 record and an 0-3 mark in the newly formed American Athletic Conference. The Knights have dropped six of seven heading into Thursday’s date with Stetson. Both teams will take the courts at the UCF Tennis Complex, 2 p.m., Thursday.
