Stetson University Director of Tennis Pierre Pilote announced today that Oregon transfer Maja Salibasic (Lukac, Bosnia & Herzegovina) has signed a Grant-in-Aid offer to join the Hatters for the upcoming academic year.

Salibasic, who will be eligible immediately, recently completed her freshman season for the Ducks. At Oregon last season, Salibasic was 2-3 in singles play and 1-2 in doubles competition.

“Maja is a great addition to an already solid recruiting class,” said Pilote. “The experience she has gained by training and playing at a Pac-12 school should help her get off to a great start here at Stetson. Not only is Maja a strong tennis player but she is also a fantastic student, she will fit right in with our group of young ladies.”

An accomplished junior player in her home country, Salibasic was once the top-ranked junior player in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 10, 12, 14 and 16-under categories. She played in several junior International Tennis Federation Tournaments and Women’s Futures tournaments, and won many tournaments while training at the First-Line Tennis Academy in Germany. She defeated Iva Primorac while at the FLTA, who was then No. 875 in WTA rankings.

Salibasic joins a celebrated recruiting class for the Hatters, a class which was ranked as the fourth-best among mid-major programs earlier in the summer by
