Jacksonville, Fla. - The Stetson volleyball team (1-16, 0-2 Atlantic Sun) battled hard on the road Friday evening but came up just a tad short throughout, dropping a three-set sweep to host North Florida (3-12, 1-0 A-Sun) by a combined seven points.  Freshman outside hitter Kaley Melville (New Germany, Minn.) registered a 10-kill, 11-dig double-double for the Hatters, who lost 26-24, 27-25, 25-22.

Junior middle blocker Sam Freeman (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) enjoyed a career night, slamming down a career-high 10 kills on .364 hitting to go along with five blocks.  Sophomore setter Kelli Carneal (Fredericksburg, Va.) finished strong with 34 assists, nine digs, five kills and four blocks while sophomore libero Monique Russell (Phoenix, Ariz.) and junior outside hitter Kaylee Ream (Venice, Fla.) led the defensive effort with 21 and 12 digs, respectively.

Paige Pridgeon's double-double (13 kills, 10 digs) led her Ospreys to victory while Anna Budinska added 13 kills of her own.  Also playing well for UNF were Britt Claessens (39 assists, six digs), Nicole Baran (22 digs) and Jessica Catelano (eight digs, four aces, seven kills).

Stetson concludes its A-Sun weekend Saturday with a 5 pm first serve against Jacksonville at Swisher Gymnasium.
