Brandy Worlton hit .312 against NIU on Saturday.

Elon, N.C. - The Stetson volleyball team (1-9) wrapped up the Elon Volleyball Classic on Saturday with a 25-22, 25-18, 25-17 loss to undefeated Northern Illinois (11-0).  Freshman middle blocker Ellen Hawks (Austin, Texas) earned All-Tournament Team honors for the Hatters, who had to contend this weekend against three teams with an 18-4 combined record entering the tournament.

Freshman outside hitter Kaley Melville (New Germany, Minn.) led the Hatters against NIU with seven kills; senior right side Brandy Worlton (Crystal River, Fla.) had six kills and hit .312 with 23 assists for sophomore setter Kelli Carneal (Fredericksburg, Va.) and 10 digs for freshman outside hitter Katie DiGirolamo (Bradenton, Fla.)

Lauren Wicinski posted a double-double (13 kills, 12 digs) to pace Northern Illinois to the win.  Meghan Romo added 11 kills while Kristin Hoffman (32 assists, seven digs) and Maddie Hughes (14 digs) put up big numbers for the Huskies as well.

Stetson begins conference play Thursday night at USC Upstate; the match will be played at nearby Wofford's Johnson Arena due to ongoing renovations at USC Upstate's Hodge Center.  The Hatters and Spartans will then re-match the next night to open the Wofford Invitational and Stetson will conclude play next Saturday against Wofford and SIU Edwardsville.
