Graham shot 6-of-10 from the field and 2-for-2 from the free throw line, while leading the team in rebounds with five. Patterson was 5-of-11 from the field including a 3-for-8 from 3-point range. It was a return to form for Patterson who led the team in scoring for the first time since delivering 17 points against USC-Upstate on November 30.
With 59 seconds remaining in the first half Liam McInerney (Victoria, Australia) completed a three point play with a free throw to get Stetson to within eight points at 35-27. It was as close as the Hatters had come since the 9:44 mark, and as close as they would come for the remainder of the game.
With today's win Campbell remained in first place in the conference with a 6-1 record. The Camels were picked to finish sixth by both the coaches and the media in the preseason polls. They lead the A-Sun in eight of 19 statistical categories. Campbell proved to be a tough opponent for the Hatters who came in riding a high after defeating ETSU on its home floor Thursday night.
Also scoring in double figures for Stetson was senior A.J. Smith. His 11 points raised his season total to 1,121 and moved him up to 25th all-time in scoring at Stetson. Freshman Joel Naburgs (Victoria, Australia) led the team with a career-high equaling four assists.
As a team Stetson shot 37.7% (20-53) from the field and a disappointing 18.5% (5-27) from long range. The difference in the game was Campbell's 51.8% (29-56) shooting which included 64.3% (9-14) from beyond the arc.
Next up for the Hatters is a home game on Friday night, January 22 against Mercer University. The game will be broadcast on CSS television, and can also be seen on Stetson's Hatter Vision at www.gohatters.com. Murray Miller will provide the play by play for Hatter Vision with Harry "Chat Man" Arnold adding color.
