Robbie Aaron, Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Daytona Cubs, returns for his second season as play-by-play announcer for Stetson men’s basketball. In addition to his experience with the minor league baseball team, which included the honor of broadcasting the 2011 FSL All-Star Game, Aaron has also had stints working with ESPN Radio, SNY, WFAN, and broadcasted in the Cape Cod Baseball League.
Additionally, Stetson will be featured on ESPN3 a total of nine times this season, highlighted by a pair of games against Florida Gulf Coast that will also air on Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS). The Eagles come to DeLand on Jan. 5, and the Hatters make the return trip to Dunk City on Jan. 31.
The Hatters open the season at Atlantic Coast Conference foes Clemson and Notre Dame, and both games will be featured on ESPN3 and the Watch ESPN app. Stetson takes on the Tigers on Nov. 8 and then challenges the Fighting Irish on Nov. 10.
In-state rivals USF and UCF are also slated to host Stetson for games on ESPN3 in non-conference action. The Bulls will welcome the Hatters to Tampa on Nov. 22, while the Knights play host to Stetson on Dec. 7 in Orlando.
As part of the A-Sun’s E3 On-Campus Initiative, Kennesaw State and Florida Gulf Coast are scheduled to join Lipscomb and USC Upstate in airing all of their home contests on ESPN3. That means that the Hatters’ road games against the Owls (Jan. 23), the Spartans (Feb. 13), and the Bisons (Mar. 1) will also be featured online by the Worldwide Leader in Sports.
