Amidst a grueling eight-game road trip to start the season, the Stetson men’s basketball team is ready to take the floor again on Friday, playing at USF at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN3.

Despite much improved play over the course of the last two games at Florida A&M and Florida International, Stetson is still in search of its first win of the season, holding a record of 0-4. The Hatters will take on a USF squad that has yet to lose in 2013-14, earning victories in each of its first three contests.

The Bulls defeated Tennessee Tech and Bethune-Cookman at home to start the year, and recently topped Bowling Green by a score of 75-61 on the road to improve to 3-0. USF returns two of its top three scorers from a year ago, including senior Victor Rudd, who leads the team with 17.7 points per game through three contests.

Stetson, meanwhile, has been led by senior Aaron Graham, who comes into Friday’s game averaging 11.5 points on 42.1 percent shooting from beyond the arc. The shooting guard has made two three-pointers in each of the four games this season, leaving him just seven triples shy of Stetson’s all-time three-point record.

The Hatters and the Bulls have met 24 times in the all-time series between the two teams, dating back to a 74-73 USF victory back in 1971. The Bulls hold a 17-7 advantage and have won 10 out of 12 meetings in Tampa. USF has also won the last 11 match-ups, including last year’s 63-54 defeat of Stetson at the Edmunds Center.

In late November of last season Stetson – playing without leading scorer Adam Pegg – was tied with USF at 49-49 with just 3:50 to play in the game. The Bulls eventually pulled away for the nine-point win to hand the Hatters their first home loss of the season. Aaron Graham scored 15 points, while Willie Green added 11 in the defeat.
