E.J. Gordon Named Atlantic Sun Co-Player of the Week

DeLand, Fla. -- Stetson University senior forward E.J. Gordon (DeLand, Fla. / DeLand HS) has been named Atlantic Sun Conference co-Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. Gordon shares this week's honor with Gardner-Webb's Tim Jennings.
Gordon averaged 18.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 3.3 steals to lead the Hatters to a perfect 3-0 record in conference play last week. He also shot 63 percent from the floor and averaged over 35 minutes a game.
Last Monday against Lipscomb, Gordon scored 23 points and collected eight rebounds, five assists and five steals as the Hatters knocked off the first-place Bisons in convincing fashion, 85-67. On Friday at Mercer, Gordon registered 14 points, six rebounds, and seven assists as the Hatters won their third straight road game, 73-72 over the Bears. Back home on Sunday vs. Florida Atlantic, Gordon notched a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds to go along with five assists and five steals in a 56-49 Hatter win.
It is Gordon's first career Player of the Week honor.
Stetson has won six of their last seven games overall, and are 5-1 in the A-Sun in the second half on the conference season. Gordon leads the team in scoring (14.7), rebounding (6.2), and assists (3.2) this season.
The Hatter senior has also increased his career points total to 1563, which ranks third all-time in school history and 16th in A-Sun history. He is also among the school and conference career leaders in rebounds (638), steals (219), and free throws (415).
Stetson (8-17, 7-9 A-Sun) begins a three-game road swing Wednesday night at Savannah State. Tip-off has been changed to 8:15 p.m.
