E.J. Gordon Named Atlantic Sun Player of the Week
February 27, 2006

DeLand, Fla. -- For the second time in three weeks, Stetson University senior forward E.J. Gordon (DeLand, Fla. / DeLand HS) has been named Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week.

Gordon averaged 20.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.5 steals per game last week as red-hot Stetson completed the regular season with wins over Campbell and Gardner-Webb.

On Thursday vs. the Camels, Gordon collected 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists, three blocks, and three steals in Stetson's 81-79 win. His two free throws with a minute left broke a 79-79 tie and proved to be the final margin of victory.

On Saturday vs. Gardner-Webb, Gordon's 21 points, seven rebounds, and four steals helped lift Stetson to a 77-65 victory. He moved into second-place among Stetson's all-time leading scorers with 1,662 career points.

The Hatters have now won eight games in a row, marking the seventh-longest active winning streak in Division I. Gordon has averaged 19.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game during the eight-game winning streak.

The sixth-seed for the A-Sun tournament, Stetson (13-17) will face third-seed Florida Atlantic (15-12) in the quarterfinals at 9:30 p.m. Thursday night. The game will be televised live by CSS-TV.
