E.J. Gordon Named Second Team All-Conference

DeLand, Fla. -- Stetson University senior forward E.J. Gordon (DeLand, Fla. / DeLand HS) has been named second-team all-Atlantic Sun Conference, the league office announced on Tuesday.

A two-time Player of the Week selection, Gordon is averaging 15.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game this season. He has also collected 90 assists and 56 steals, and is the only player in the league ranked 12th or higher in all four statistical categories.

Gordon has started 28 contests this year and has scored in double figures 24 times, including the last 14 in a row. He career total of 1662 points currently ranks second in school history and 11th in A-Sun history.

The Hatters have now won eight games in a row, marking the seventh-longest active winning streak in Division I. Gordon has averaged 19.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game during the eight-game winning streak.

This is Gordon's third A-Sun postseason honor in his career. Gordon was selected as the league's Freshman of the Year in 2002-03 and also earned second-team all-conference honors in 2003-04.

The sixth-seed for the A-Sun tournament, Stetson (13-17) will face third-seed Florida Atlantic (15-12) in the quarterfinals at 9:30 p.m. Thursday night. The game will be televised live by CSS-TV.
