The Stetson women’s soccer program and head coach Manoj Khettry are excited to announce a pair of camps to be held this summer.  The Hatters will host a Pospect ID Camp on June 16 and a Residential Camp July 18-21, both being held at the brand new Athletic Training Center.

“Our first Prospect ID camp went well and we were able to solidify offers to some of our 2014 recruits, identify some very good 2015 and 2016 recruits, and offer all the players that attended some valuable information both from a soccer standpoint and from the college recruitment standpoint,” Khettry said.

The Prospect ID Camp is for players aged 13-19 looking to become Stetson Hatters or to continue their development as a player. The ID Camp will expose players to the standards and style of coaching, as well as expectations of players at Stetson.  It is intended for players with a high level of interest in playing at the NCAA Division I level and Stetson University.

“I think the Prospect ID Camps are a great way for prospects to get a flavor for how we train at Stetson, what our expectations are for players and ultimately a sense of what our style of soccer will be and how our coaching staff operates,” Khettry said. “It’s also a great way for them to learn more about the college recruitment process.”

The Residential Camp will be geared to presenting a college training environment for the aspiring player.  There will be nightly talks on strength and conditioning, nutrition, as well as a college search seminar.  All campers will also receive a camp t-shirt.

“As far as our Residential Camp is concerned, that is a much better way for a player to get a fuller experience as to what life at Stetson will be like on a daily basis as a potential student-athlete,” Khettry said. “In my opinion, there is no better way to know what it is like to be a “Hatter” than by staying in our dorms, eating in our dining hall and training 2-3 times a day on our fields led by our coaching staff. Summer camps and Prospect ID Clinics have become such a crucial part in the recruitment process and I hope many of our 2014, 2015 and 2016 prospects take advantage of these opportunities this summer.”
