|Stetson Women’s Soccer Shows Well Against Tough ACC Opponent|

A little over three minutes into the second half the Wolf Pack scored on a one-touch shot past Garavaglia and the score was tied. Not long after Garavaglia was forced to leave the field due to an injury. Caitlin Peterson (
Garavaglia’s injury was untimely considering how well she was playing. Overall she made 13 saves in 68 minutes of play.
“It was really good to see Andrea come of age today,” said Head Coach Julie Orlowski. “She made some great saves including two huge stops in the first half to help us maintain our lead.”
Although down late the Hatters continued to apply pressure on their ACC opponent. With two and a half minutes remaining sophomore Tessa Gavilsky (Granite City, Ill) scored her first goal of the season after moving up to play the forward position. It was an unassisted goal that beat the keeper from 15 yards out. Stetson’s two goals in the game were the first scored against NC State all season.
“I am proud of the way we played today,” said Orlowski. “We went 3-2 against a very tough ACC team.”
