TAMPA, Fla.—USF scored all four of its goals in the first half as Stetson suffered a 4-0 exhibition loss, Friday at Corbett Stadium.
The Bulls scored their first goal just 30 seconds into the game when Leticia Skeete found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.
Jackie Simpson made it a 2-0 game, and Skeete followed a few minutes later with her second goal of the night to make it 3-0.
With one minute left before halftime, Kelly Harris netted a goal to give the Bulls a 4-0 advantage.
Despite the final score, head coach Manoj Khettry was pleased with his young team's all-round performance.
"When you're playing a good team on the road, you can't walk into the game with any dout," he said. "And we showed some doubt early on. We had a little deer-in-the-headlights look in the early moments. But I was really pleased with how we played in the second half. A number of kids stepped up and grew in confidence as the game went on."
The Hatters had three shots on goal for the game.
Stetson plays its second and final exhibition game when the Hatters host Embry-Riddle, 7 p.m., Sunday at the Athletic Training Center practice field.
