ORLANDO, Fla. – Tickets to preliminary rounds of the 2014 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship go on sale Saturday, October 19 at 10 a.m. Fans wishing to buy tickets to the second- and third-round games in Orlando at the Amway Center should go to www.NCAA.com/mbbtickets.

The tournament games will be hosted locally by Stetson University, the Central Florida Sports Commission and Orlando Venues, in partnership with the City of Orlando and Orange County.

“We have already sold nearly 9,000 tickets,” Jeff Altier, Director of Athletics for Stetson University, said. “When tickets go on sale October 19th, only a little more than 1,000 lower bowl (Terrace Level) tickets will still be available, so fans need to purchase their tickets as soon as possible.”

Tickets are $258 for the Terrace Level and $198 for the Promenade level; and provide admission to all six games staged in Orlando. Dates of the games held at the Amway Center will be March 20 & 22, 2014, with four games taking place on Thursday, March 20, and two games taking place on Saturday, March 22. Teams that will play in Orlando and specific game times each day will be determined by the NCAA on Selection Sunday, March 16, 2014.

“It truly is an important event,” Stetson head men’s basketball coach Corey Williams said. “The thing that I really enjoyed as a basketball player was looking up in the stands and seeing that it was a packed house. As a coach, I can tell you right now, I’m enthusiastic, I’m fired up, and we should all be fired up because this means a lot.”

“The success and community support of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship will set the tone for future championship events in Central Florida,” John Bisignano, President & CEO of the Central Florida Sports Commission, said. “It will be the key factor in our ability to host this event and other championship events like it in the future.”

The NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship will attract thousands of fans from across the United States to our community, generating millions in economic impact for the region. The event is expected to generate more than 14,000 room nights and nearly $10 million of economic impact for the region. In addition, the international and national exposure generated from the media and live telecast will be immeasurable for Orlando and Orange County.

This is the first time Orlando has played host to the NCAA DI Men’s Basketball Championship since 2004. The NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship was previously hosted in Orlando, with Stetson University serving as host, in 1993, 1996, 1999, and 2004 at the Amway Arena.

The 2014 championship begins with the First Four, four first-round games taking place in Dayton, Ohio, Tuesday and Wednesday evening, March 18 and 19. Second- and third-round action takes place in Buffalo, Milwaukee, Orlando and Spokane Thursday and Saturday, March 20 and 22, while Raleigh, San Antonio, San Diego and St. Louis will host second- and third-round games Friday and Sunday, March 21 and 23.

Anaheim will serve as the West Regional site and Memphis will host the South Regional on Thursday and Saturday, March 27 and 29. Indianapolis will be the site for the Midwest Regional Friday and Sunday, March 28 and 30, and Madison Square Garden in New York will host tournament action for the first time since 1961, when it plays host to the East Regional March 28 and 30.

The 76th Men’s Final Four will be hosted by North Texas April 5 and 7. General tickets to the games at AT&T Stadium in Arlington are sold out, but fans still have the opportunity to purchase The NCAA Experience ticket and hospitality packages by visiting www.NCAA.com/VIP. The NCAA Experience ticket and hospitality packages for preliminary rounds of the championship can also be purchased at that website via PrimeSport, the official ticket and hospitality provider of the NCAA.
