2009-10: Atlantic Sun Freshman of the Year...First Team All-Atlantic Sun...A-Sun All-Academic Team...made an instant impact on the Hatters and A-Sun women's tennis...18-7 (6-4 A-Sun) in singles, including a 12-4 record at the #1 slot in the lineup...18-7 (7-3 A-Sun) in doubles with countrywoman Valentina Galbarini...the doubles pairing was ranked as high as #37 in the nation...reached ITA Southeast Region semifinals in October 2009...teamed with Galbarini to make program's first appearance in the NCAA doubles tournament...defeated #40 duo from Wichita State in NCAA first round and took nationally fifth-ranked pairing deep into the third set in the second round...won five singles matches by perfect 6-0, 6-0 scores.

Prior to Stetson:  Won Uruguayan national championships in singles six times at five different levels since 2002 (U-12, U-14, U-16, U-18 and 2007 Women's National Championship)...has appeared in several major South American girl's junior events, including a victory at the 2006 Guayaquil Bowl in Ecuador and a runner-up finish at the Dodge Bowl in Venezuela the same year...earned a win on the Copa BMW tour in her homeland in April 2009...  In team competition, has helped Carrasco Lawn Tennis Club win several amateur championships...has been part of U-12 and U-14 South American Championship squads.

Personal:  Carolina de los Santos Pereira was born May 8, 1990 in Montevideo, Uruguay and is the daughter of Mario de los Santos Recarte and Laura Pereira Testa.
