Steve Drabyn recently completed his second season as an assistant coach for the Stetson men's basketball team in 2012-13.  He joined the staff in May of 2011.

It marks Drabyn's first NCAA Division I coaching assignment after a highly successful playing career at Belmont, and seven years of Division II and high school coaching experience.

Drabyn oversees the strength and conditioning program for the Hatters men's basketball players, and works directly with Head Coach Casey Alexander in all camp related activities.  He also shares recruiting, coaching and scouting responsibilites with the entire staff.

While at Belmont from 2000 to 2004, Drabyn scored 1,237 points, and led the NCAA in free throw percentage (78-82, .951) as a junior.  An Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week and A-Sun All-Tournament Team honoree, Drabyn has also coached at Sewanee (University of the South), Lees-McRae, and Carmel (Ind.) High School.

Head Coach Casey Alexander on Steve Drabyn

"Steve is a basketball purist and his excitement for the game will be contagious among our players.  He does a great job on the floor and will play a significant role in workouts, practice and scouting.  I've said many times that Steve sets the bar high for what it means to be a teammate.  His selflessness and desire to see the team do well will be a great model for our players."
