Tony McManus begins his first season as Assistant Coach for the Stetson men's soccer team in 2013.  The Memphis native joins the Hatters shortly after retiring from his nine-year professional playing career.

After a successful college career at the University of Alabama Birmingham, in which he earned All-Conference USA, Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year, All-South Region, and All-America honors, McManus was drafted by the Chicago Fire in the MLS SuperDraft of 2004. 

McManus played nine years of professional soccer with clubs in the MLS, the A-League, and NASL/USL, competing in over 250 contests over the course of his career.  During his career, McManus was heavily involved in community service, spending time with the Boys and Girls Club of America, the Starlight Starbright Foundation, the Make a Wish Foundation, and SCORE America, among others.

Spending time coaching various youth soccer clubs all over the United States during his playing career, McManus also spent time as a volunteer coach for Oglethorpe University in 2012-13.

A former U-17 and U-23 National B Team Pool member, McManus graduated from UAB in 2003.  He currently holds an NSCAA "A" License.
