Stetson University women’s basketball head coach Lynn Bria proudly announced the signing of three student-athletes to National Letters-of-Intent on Friday. The signees are Keevana Edwards (Atlanta, Ga./Wesleyan School), Lashai Geeter (River Rouge, Mich./Martin Luther King Jr. Senior HS), and Sarah Sagerer (Vocklabruck, Austria/The Rock School).

"I am very excited to be adding these extremely talented student-athletes to our program," Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said.  "I look for all three of them to make an immediate impact and contribute right away as freshmen."

Edwards, a 5-11 wing/forward, was named to the all-region team last season and helped lead Wesleyan to its sixth consecutive Georgia State Championship. She averaged 10 points and six rebounds a game and was selected to play in the junior all-star game.  This year she earned preseason all-county honors as a senior.

"Keevana is a very smart player with a high basketball IQ," Bria said.  "She is a super athlete who can get up and down the court really well.  She is a kid who perfectly fits how we play.  She is a versatile player who can go inside and do some things on the perimeter as well."

Geeter, a 5-11 wing player, helped lead the King Crusaders to back-to-back Detroit Public School League Championships. As a junior she averaged 15 points and eight rebounds a game, helping lead her team to a 21-1 record, a number two ranking in the state of Michigan, a regional championship and the quarterfinals of the Class A State tournament.

"Lashai is another Stetson-type kid who will fit perfectly into our program," Bria said.  "She is a high-energy, tough, aggressive wing - forward who attacks the basket well.  She is a left-handed slasher who will bring us some additional rebounding."

Sagerer, a 6-3 wing, helped lead Olentangy Orange (Ohio) to a 26-3 record and the semifinals of the Division I Ohio State tournament last year.  This past August she averaged 13.7 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 3.6 blocks while playing for her native Austria at the U18 European Championships.

"Sarah is a do-it-all forward," Bria said.  "She shoots the ball at an extremely high level.  She can put the ball on the floor - she played some point guard for Austria - but she can also post up or step out on the perimeter.  She has great size and will also fit perfectly into our system."

Edwards, Geeter and Sagerer will join the Hatters for the 2014-15 season.
