The Stetson women's basketball team will play the back end of its its two-game Tallahassee road trip Monday night at Florida A&M. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the Al Lawson Center.

The Hatters (3-3) opened the trip with a 79-49 setback at Florida State on Friday. Stetson cut a 16-point first-half deficit down to nine at halftime and to six early in the second half but would pull no closer.

After scoring just 19 second-half points against the Seminoles, the Hatters will look to get the offense back on track Monday night. For the season, Stetson is averaging 71.3 points per game, second-most in the Atlantic Sun, and five different players are averaging double figures in scoring.

"I think it going to be a challenge for us offesively because they play a lot of different defenses," Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said about the Rattlers.  "We are really going to have to communicate to be on the same page.  We haven't really played a team like Florida A&M that plays multiple defenses.  They also rebound the ball very well, and that is always a challenge for us.  So we have to rebound and we have to really communicate offensively."

Florida A&M enters the game with a 5-2 record following a weekend split at the Southern Miss Lady Eagle Classic. Senior Jasmine Grice leads the Rattlers in scoring (22.1 ppg).

"We also need to communicate defensively," Bria said.  "We might have to mix it up in regards to some man, some zone.  I think our game plan defensively is pretty consistent, the key is going to be offensively recognizing what they are doing."

Stetson defeated Florida A&M last season at the Edmunds Center, 88-67. The Hatters shot 56% from the floor and hit eight three-pointers in the contest.

Monday's game will mark Stetson's sixth road contest out of the first seven to open the season. The Hatters will play four of the next five at home.

Live video will be available on a subscription basis at ($7.95), with a simulcast on for HatterVision subscribers. In addition, Ryan Rouse will call the action on WSBB, AM1230 New Smyrna Beach, AM1490 DeLand, online at, and on the free WSBB app for iOS and Android devices.
