Coming of a 101-point scoring outburst at Florida A&M on Monday, the Stetson women's basketball team returns home for a Thursday matinee against Palm Beach Atlantic in the annual Volusia County Schoolchildren Day.  Tip-off is set for 11:00 a.m. at the Edmunds Center.

The game will be broadcast live on HatterVision and WSBB.

The Hatters (4-3) enter Thursday's contest as winners of three of their last four games and four of their last six.  Freshman Brianti Saunders led Monday's offensive surge with a career-high 30 points on 11-of-15 shooting.  She hit four three pointers and scored 22 points in the first half alone.

"(Brianti) hit a lot of threes that really opened up the game for us,"  Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said following the Florida A&M contest.  "I thought she and Amber really carried us in the first half."

Amber Porter was one of three Hatters to record double-doubles, along with Cherisse Burris and Jama Sharp.  Porter finished with career-highs of 23 points, 15 rebounds, and six blocks.

"(Amber) did a great a job defensively, she altered their shots, and she had a ton of blocks," Bria said.  "She does so much for us on both ends of the floor."

Bria was also pleased with the way the Hatters shared the basketball and made the extra pass to find the open player.  Stetson shot 59% from the floor, connecting on 39-of-66 field goal attempts.  The squad also pulled down a season-high 55 rebounds.

Palm Beach Atlantic enters Thursday's game with a 3-6 record following Tuesday's 58-47 loss to Florida Tech.  Kasie Parker leads the Sailfish in scoring (18.6 ppg).

Tickets range from $5-$10 and can be purchased online at GoHatters.com/tix or at the Edmunds Center ticket office. Stetson students, faculty, and staff are free with a valid ID.
