As the Stetson women's basketball team embarks on its final road trip of the regular season, the stage has been set for dramatic finish to the 2013-14 campaign.

  • The Hatters have won 20 games for the fourth straight year and have their best 25-game mark in school history (20-5).
  • Stetson currently maintains a school-record 12-game winning streak, tying for the fifth-longest active win streak in the country.
  • Offensively the team ranks 23rd in the NCAA in scoring, averaging 79.4 points per game. Five players are averaging in double figures, and different heroes seem to emerge each contest.
  • The Hatters are tied for first place in the Atlantic Sun with a 12-1 record and have clinched home court advantage for at least the quarterfinals of the A-Sun tournament.  Stetson would host the entire conference tournament if the Hatters win each of their final five regular season games.

However, let's be clear. While fans may be looking at what could happen down the line, the team is only worried about their next opponent:

"We are just trying to take it one game at a time," junior Jama Sharp said. "(The winning streak) is a great accomplishment, but we can't really focus on it."

"It's all about staying in the moment, and living that particular game," senior Sasha Sims said. "It's not about what is behind us or what is ahead of us, it is day-by-day."

"We just have to keep going," junior Cherisse Burris said. "We can't think about who is at the end of the season, we just have to worry about the next game."

And that "next game" for Stetson will come Thursday, when the Hatters travel to UNF to take on the Ospreys (5-18, 1-11) at 5:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ASun.TV and WSBB myam1230.com.

"We have struggled the last couple of years playing (at UNF), so it's something we have to be ready for," Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said.

Stetson has dropped its last two contests at UNF, having been held to under 60 points each time. When the teams met in DeLand earlier this season, UNF led for much of the second half before the Hatters came back for a 75-67 victory.

In addition to the live broadcasts on ASun.TV and WSBB, in-game updates can be accessed via live stats, the Stetson women's basketball twitter feed, or the Hat-Alerts text messaging system.

Stetson's road trip concludes with a 1 p.m. Saturday contest at Jacksonville.
