Ali Dimatteo joins the Stetson University Rowing staff as a 2011 graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Amherst where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology.

Dimatteo was a four-year member of the Division I UMass varsity crew under legendary Olympic athlete, and coach, Jim Dietz. Her rowing highlights include two-time Atlantic 10 Second-Team All-Conference honors, a fourth-place finish at the Under-23 World Championship Trials in single sculls and numerous regular-season victories.

Dimatteo was the Head Coach of Duxbury High School varsity girl’s rowing team in Massachusetts in 2012-13. Before that she was an assistant coach to the women’s rowing team at Wesleyan University. There she headed up the novice women’s squad and served as chief recruiting coordinator for prospective student-athletes. Today, she continues to coach masters rowers around the country for All-American Rowing Camp, providing them with the expert technical instruction in sculling, and physical training programs, necessary to row successfully.

Dimatteo has a passion for working with any individual who wishes to improve their wellness through sports and exercise. As an experienced coach and licensed professional in corrective exercise and bodywork, she hopes to build the athletic performance of young people competing at the collegiate level.

“Ali is a wonderful addition to our Stetson Rowing program,” Hatters head coach Mark Wilson said. “I have known Ali for about four years and have been impressed with her maturity, professional and passionate exuberance for the sport of rowing. She is a wonderful rower, athlete, mentor and all around great role model for both our women’s and men’s teams.  I could not be happier to have Ali’s experience here at Stetson and I know we will be better with her coaching and developing our team.”
