Stetson University novice rower Shelby Rose-Curren has been selected to attend the William Smith U23 Development Camp this summer in Geneva, N.Y.
“I am really proud of Shelby to see the potential that this camp and experience will give her," Stetson head coach Mark Wilson said. "She is a new member of the team, but she has already set season erg records and will be a real force on the team in coming years.”
As one of only 10 young rowers selected for the camp, Rose-Curren will be training twice a day, working an internship with the Musselman Tri-Athlon, attending team lectures and preparing for various summer regattas, including the USRowing Club Nationals (July 10-14), the Independence Day Regatta (July 5-7) and the U23 National Team Trials (June 23-26).
"Shelby will learn so much and have a great time with the coaches and other athletes at the camp," Wilson said. "Camp’s like this are really valuable to help our athletes raise the bar for themselves and for the team. This will be a really valuable opportunity for Shelby and I am glad she is moving forward with the camp.”
The camp runs from June 10 to July 14th.
