Stetson men's and women's lightweight crews advanced to the Grand Finals today in Oak Ridge TN. Sixty teams, completing from 16 states -- including University of Tulsa, University of Texas, Penn State, University of San Diego, University of Tennessee, University of West Virginia, Purdue, Washington University to name but a few--gathered under ominous skies to race for qualification to the Grand Finals.

The Stetson women won their heat and the Stetson men qualified with a third. The blustery, cold, winter-ish day did not deter the Stetson crews. Racing them up north at the Head of the Charles in the fall prepared them for these unseasonal conditions.

Stetson crew races Sunday morning in back-to-back Grand Final races. The Stetson women took gold last year and the men are looking this year to better last year's fourth place finish. The Stetson Crew competes next at the Dad Vail National Championship Regatta in Philadelphia on May 14.
